Lentils — Moong Daal

  • 2.5-3 cups lentils soaked overnight
  • water measurement: estimate enough to the fullest potential soak expansion
  • heat pressure cooker
  • add the lentils first w/o pouring the water
  • add some/3 tsp garlic powder, salt,
  • 1 tsp turmeric, cumin powder
  • add one full Tbsp vegan massaman or yellow curry paste
  • stir w/o water for ~5ish minutes
  • Then add water-should look like 1/3 or 1/2 water
  • let it start bubbling for a few on the higher side of the heat
  • close the lid
  • turn off after ~10 minutes for intact lentils
  • Or let it whistle once or 2 times with an interval depending on how soupy and fluidity consistency you’d prefer
