Thought today (earth day) is a good day to share s Thought today (earth day) is a good day to share some paras from the essay i published on my website launched in March 🙂

I have written about my hopes and plans for the website in the “About” menu.

Lately and probably in general, I have not been as active as I would like to be as an _____ activist — blank while I’m still trying to find a place for myself, fighting the urge to put an adjective (like introverted) or category (like environmental) before it…

All the words that ran through my head as I was editing for the post are escaping away from it at the moment. But I will have more to say in the next post, a part two hopefully, might be a few hours after or tomorrow.

All the words at a time in the post are probably overwhelming already. The full essay link is in my bio if the topic seems of any concern/ignites interest

A lovely day🌻🥰

Ahh the highs tho!!

Wondering where’s my #Earthday post? -here here! Wondering where’s my #Earthday post?
-here here! 🤓
late by a few hours in a formal sense, but not too late to still get some credits for the work hehhe

i was waiting for the next plantpost until the tomatoes fruited, but alas my temptation and the good reason for the occasion😌

Without a doubt, the easiest and most adorable+rewarding thing at the same time i did this spring was planting; tomatoes, cilantro and chillies, (i might have also little less than half of a potato very recently😝) Only waiting for the day i could make Dhaniya ko achaar(chutney)😭from my very indoor garden.

I once in a blue moon buy tomatoes, cilantros or even onions, ginger n stuff. Prepared my food without them most of the time ‘cause out here you tend to not realize when they go bad when you bought, and saving cilantro in the fridge for later is a big dream.

Cannot recommend and encourage enough, to those who can, to plant.

As a kid who detested veggies until mid-teen, Mymy look at me now!🥲 i used to only accept-with-normal-face tomatoes and cilantro in achaar or chatpatey... About my treatment to other veggies is a whole different post. I still am not a big fan of All vegetables in general, i grew indifferent to my taste-pickiness and into a few of my favorites🌱
Only a few plantings away from becoming a total plant Nerd.

Don’t worry, I don’t sing to the plants yett lol
Altho, probably more sensible than talking to a stone. I do seem to think out loud/talk to myself mostly when all by myself these days but sometimes when among people too lol, now i wonder nomore why/how people did it in the movies.

Ps exposing my repeated questionable pronunciations and stupidity via videos recently 👹n loviinit

i left out soo so many things to share, but words as well as pictures are never enough😭but most importantly, it’s the time😤

How i planted, caretook, recipe with ‘em are to be posted @thriftfoods later🌝

The avocado seed was June 2’20 not ‘22😭mistik!
PART I The wires are painted colorful, doesn’t m PART I
The wires are painted colorful, doesn’t mean the life they hold is too.
Still hurts when the sharp edge sticks, when it’s forced deep into your skin.
The chains may seem loose don’t mean the chained are so free to move.
“They look happy!”
-Have you seen their faces when they beg for life, for their babies, for one moment of peace, long before they’d start to live, or never get a chance to. Perhaps even those imaginations of ours would have been enough if we dared it. What does it take from us to let them continue their state of joy or struggles like most of us want with our lives despite what we are told, and with whatever they throw at us – only a heart, ability to think? Then, maybe a few words from others
Who either oppose or share similar questions.

What we grew up with isn’t what we still owe to, to commit all that we grew up with.
Please, don’t wait for the others so you can open your eyes too.
We’ve afforded enough blindfolds in history.
But we are not in charge of what happened way before us in the past.
We Are Responsible for the Now, and will be held accountable down the line when the future will look upon Our History. And dear would we be able to look in their eyes, and say what we say now? With all the GHG emissions, deforestation, worthless waste, climate crisis, depleting biodiversity, and species extinction… we’ve caused most terrifyingly, (failing to address) at the expense of animals non-humans (and humans), either ridiculously over-populated or extinct or just an inch close to extinction.
I hope we know, i wish we knew, one less victim still means something; because when we consider each adores their own, every one of them Count!

Being vegan is not merely an indication of preference, just as it is not simply a choice of diet.
It is a Stand in Defense of the Sentients, the most vulnerable and violated, who we empathize with everyday, while we have them so easily, on our plates every day. The difference between us and the wild is we can, and do put up the biggest smile on our faces and celebrate over feasts of the dead. We’ve normalized it to such extent that barely do we give a think, ‘What’s so Wrong about it!’
(Cont’d, next post)
PART II One of the cruelest punishments I can thin PART II
One of the cruelest punishments I can think of, to anyone, is to stop thinking of them, their existence, foot-stepping over their sentiments.

To the cows, who we like to think, owe us their breastmilk. They don’t! want to be leashed or barred just so humans can make a claim on their reproductive organs and mammary gland through Artificial Insemination and Milking in exchange for a broken shelter we build them away from home.

To their calves, who we would portray as brothers/sisters for in Hindu culture we “respect” their mothers like our own. But we acknowledge none of their best interests. It’s amazing how we so want them to be our mothers in excuse of a single purpose—their milk, beguiled as cheese, butter, and milk chocolates. Do we ever consider to think if they want to see us as their children? The answer = NO. If being adopted as moms by another species means all this, it’s the last thing one wants with the life they only get once.

To the hens, whose eggs we steal because “we don’t want it to go waste,” ‘cause we ignore the time and strain we demand, for them to be able to lay them. To their little🐥s who make our heads tilt in awe, but are expected to live the same fuckin fate their parents ever lived.

To the fishes, who we treat with our racist eyes. One group goes inside aquariums(or jails), the other into our stomach. FAO estimated that globally~3 trillion Wild fishes die every year, which excludes the illegal, unrecorded, unregulated, or discarded ones (FAO, 2012d). But what are the numbers? if only we could reflect on each is their own individual. And who even cares about the shrimps who are boiled alive in a bowl for entertainment, get their eyes taken out so they can reproduce for us well, for a piece of appetizer, few sushis, or pasta’s extra ingredient. Studies have shown that arthropods suffer, sense chronic pain. The fishes are intelligent, some can even score in a ball game, make art in the sand; they go thru depression.

To the pigs, whose screams I listened to, being sacrificed by 4-5 men on every festival occasion. Even the little ones unspared, tossed into a rectangular bamboo bag, tight enough to just..[cont’d in the comment]

food for thought, or tff:
be it any form of art, thru it, one can only portray a portion of how they feel...
so we could only abandon what we create, or we’d be working on it till death and still it’ll deem unfinished.
Albeit, the viewers or some may take it as a complete piece, and that’s the beauty of it.
